Manufacturer of KHALSA Farm Implements was established at Baghpat Road.
Meerut, U.P. in the year 1971 by S. Ajmer Singh as a proprietory unit. Maize
sheller & Drumy type thresher was the starting implements. As research
got underway Drumy thresher was replaced by single fan & double fan wheat
thresher with elevator, this thresher further helped in developing a new high
capacity Rotary thresher which became very popular later. In 1975, Malkeet
Singh joined the unit; he was instrumental in putting the unit on scientific
line. The firm got registered with small scale industries in 1979. In 1984
the firm decided to do some thing new in agriculture farm mechanization.
Potato & Sugarcane was selected. The two crops had no mechanization till
then. With planters the work was started, Potato planters - Belt type &
Rotary Disc Type were taken up. In sugarcane a automatic cutter planter which
could make furrow, place fertilizer, cut the seed, place the setts into the
furrows & lastly cover the furrows all in one pass, R & D with above
concept was started. |
