Boom lifts are a type of aerial work platform that provides access to elevated areas using a telescopic or articulating boom. Unlike scissor lifts, which can only move vertically, boom lifts offer greater reach and flexibility, allowing workers to access areas over obstacles and at various heights and angles.

Function: Boom lifts are designed to lift personnel and their equipment to perform tasks at height, such as:

    * Construction and maintenance

    * Tree trimming

    * Utility work

    * Sign installation

Types: There are two main types of boom lifts:

    Telescopic boom lifts: These have a straight, extendable boom that provides maximum reach and height.

    Articulating boom lifts: Also known as "knuckle booms," these have multiple hinged sections, allowing for greater maneuverability and access to hard-to-reach areas.
