Brief Description: Agrimarsica's story is rooted in the extensive
agricultural sector experience of its founder, Luigi Del Rosso, whose journey
in agricultural mechanization began in the 1960s. In 1977, encouraged by the
unwavering moral and professional support of his wife, Tiziana—who played a
key role in creating and maintaining the welcoming, customer-focused
atmosphere that defines their client relationships—Mr. Del Rosso embarked on
his own venture. The company's name, "Agrimarsica," was inspired by
his origins in Fucino, a significant agricultural area in Marsica, Abruzzo, a
region that would continue to shape the company's direction. The Fucino basin, a vast 14,000-hectare plateau
formed after the draining of Lake Fucino (a feat completed in 1854 by Prince
Alessandro Torlonia after attempts by Roman emperors), is particularly suited
for potato cultivation. This unique characteristic led Agrimarsica to
concentrate its efforts on this sector, initiating the import of new and used
potato sowing and harvesting machinery from more technologically advanced
European nations such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United
Kingdom. Initially focused on the Marsica region,
Agrimarsica's operational scope steadily expanded, first throughout Abruzzo
and then into other Italian regions like Campania, Calabria, and Piedmont.
This growth was fueled by active participation in prominent national fairs,
such as the Verona Fair, and early involvement in industry demonstrations,
including comparative tests in Budrio alongside Professor Baraldi of the
University of Bologna in the early 1970s. The 1980s marked an important collaboration with the
German company Whulmaus, a manufacturer specializing in machines for tuber
sowing and harvesting, which significantly enhanced Agrimarsica's expertise
in the potato sector. Over the years, this specialized knowledge and
dedication grew, and by 1997, Agrimarsica's reputation earned it a
prestigious partnership: GRIMME, a global leader in potato technology from
Germany, chose Agrimarsica as its exclusive representative for the entire
Italian territory. Agrimarsica's guiding philosophy has remained
consistent: to conduct careful market research and anticipate the future
needs of Italian agriculture, thereby consistently providing customers with
innovative and cutting-edge products. This forward-thinking approach is the
foundation for collaborations with other leading international companies,
including HORSCH of Germany, a leader in soil preparation machinery and
precision seeders for cereals, and BARBARIE of France, a manufacturer of
wooden boxes designed to safeguard the quality of stored agricultural
products. |
