Brief Description: The story of Babini began in the 1960s in
Longastrino, a village in Italy's Ferrara province, where Giovanni Babini, a
skilled carpenter's blacksmith, established his workshop. Amidst a booming
post-war economy and full employment, his initial venture into carpentry and
repairs soon evolved into the construction of agricultural equipment. A transformative era for the business commenced in
the 1970s when Giovanni's son, Giorgio Babini, after a period of balancing
studies with work, joined the company full-time. Giorgio brought with him a
powerful entrepreneurial intuition and a profound passion for technology and
research. This dynamism catalyzed the business's evolution from a small
workshop into a formally structured company, and subsequently into an
outstanding enterprise—a recognized leader in its field of mechanical and
agricultural engineering, an achievement underscored by its attainment of a
Quality Mark. During this decade, Giorgio Babini designed the company’s first
hydraulic elevators for goods-handling and its pioneering agricultural
machines specifically for fruit growing. The impressive performance and high
reliability of these early machines quickly earned the company, now known as
Babini, a superb reputation, paving the way for recognition both within Italy
and internationally. The company's constant and steady growth
necessitated a move to a larger facility at the beginning of the 1980s. This
period also marked the formal transition of leadership from Giovanni to
Giorgio. Giorgio was ably supported by his wife, Teresa, who took charge of
the company's administration and management aspects, progressively
introducing computerization to these functions. As the global agricultural market continued to
develop and specialize, the demand grew for ever more reliable machines
capable of meeting highly specific needs. In response, Babini strategically
shifted its focus towards design excellence, establishing an internal
technical design and research department within its new 1600 sqm
headquarters. This department was dedicated to engineering increasingly
specialized machinery through superb design and painstaking research. Today, Babini's commitment to outstanding quality is
evident in its comprehensive offering, which includes punctual deliveries and
a virtually unlimited supply of parts. In recent years, production has been
further diversified with the launch of new product lines, such as the Sirio
off-road forklift truck, complemented by a complete range of accessories
including hydraulic tippers, cereal buckets, and grape containers, all
designed to meet the ever-increasing demands of modern agricultural
entrepreneurs. |
