Brief Description: With a rich heritage spanning 111 years, Başak
Tractor traces its origins to 1914, when it was established in Adapazarı as
the DA-TA Demir Araba - Tahta Araba factory. By 1944, the company, then
operating under the name SAZ (Sakarya Alat-ı Ziraiye) and affiliated with the
Turkish Agricultural Equipment Institution, was dedicated to meeting the
comprehensive agricultural tool and machinery needs of Turkish farmers. A new era of development began in 1962 with the
import of Ford brand tractors. This relationship evolved significantly by
1968, when Başak Tractor commenced manufacturing in Adapazarı through a
cooperation agreement with Ford, achieving an impressive 65 percent domestic
production rate. Further expanding its manufacturing expertise, the company
entered into an agreement with STEYR in 1976 to produce tractors under the
STEYR brand. Since 1996, Başak Tractor has proudly continued its production
legacy under its own highly respected BAŞAK brand. A pivotal moment in its
recent history occurred in 2012 when Başak Tractor became a part of the
esteemed Sanko Group. Today, Başak Tractor's manufacturing operations are
centered in its modern factory in Sakarya. This impressive facility boasts a
40,000 m² closed area situated on a 275,000 m² site and has an annual
production capacity of 10,000 units. A key strength lies in its in-house
capability to process and produce the main components of the tractor,
including the engine, transmission, and hydraulic equipment. Başak Tractor currently offers Turkish farmers a
diverse range of around 20 tractor models across different segments,
available with both 2x4 and 4x4 traction. These domestically produced
tractors are renowned for their economical operation, characterized by low
fuel consumption and minimal maintenance requirements. Now restructured under
the robust umbrella of the SANKO Group, Başak Tractor continues its
unwavering commitment to supporting farmers with a widespread sales and
service network throughout Turkey, complemented by a readily accessible and
economical spare parts stock. |
