Brief Description: The origins of the BCS Group trace back to the early 1940s and the brilliant intuition of a young engineer, Luigi Castoldi. His initial activities centered around a small workshop in Abbiategrasso, a town in the agriculturally rich Ticino Valley near Milan, where farming tasks such as sowing and mowing then relied solely on manual labor. It was from this setting, in 1942, that Castoldi conceived the visionary idea of designing and building one of the world's first self-propelled motor mowers. The resulting '243' model represented an authentic revolution in the agricultural landscape of the time, celebrated both for its enormous production capacity and for the concrete improvement it brought to the lives of farmers, who were no longer forced into long, arduous days of manual mowing. To realize his groundbreaking project, Eng. Luigi Castoldi involved Camillo Bonetti, then manager of the Abbiategrasso tax office, and Severino Speroni, a skilled mechanic. From the initials of their surnames (Bonetti, Castoldi, Speroni), the acronym 'BCS' was born, giving its name to the company officially founded on June 4, 1943. Today, with a rich history spanning over 80 years, the BCS Group has evolved into a multinational corporation and stands as one of the principal leaders in the global mechanization sector. The Group designs and manufactures a diverse range of machinery, including tractors, equipment for both agricultural use and green space maintenance, machines for autonomous electricity production, and systems for mobile welding. The BCS Group's extensive global operations are supported by three production plants in Italy (located in Abbiategrasso, Luzzara, and Cusago).
