Brief Description: Established in 1960, Caron began as a mechanical
workshop in Italy's Vicenza province, embarking on a 65-year journey that has
seen it evolve into one of the most important global manufacturers of
specialized transporters and agricultural vehicles. The company’s story is
one of discovering, step by step, how to meet the demanding needs of users in
agricultural, forestry, construction, and municipal sectors, transforming
from a small, enterprising workshop into a solid international presence built
on the concept of "Agile Capacity." The company's innovative spirit was evident from its
earliest days. Founder Andrea Caron conceived the idea of combining a mower
with a cart, leading to the FC10 (circa 1960s), one of the first specialized
means of transport for mountain agriculture. This vehicle revolutionized
high-altitude farming by replacing traditional animal power. This was
followed in 1967 by the MOTORCYCLE AGRICULTURAL C12 / C13, an economical
vehicle designed exclusively for transport with high load capacity. A
significant advancement came in 1970 with the TRANSPORTER MOTOAGRICOLA 222,
which marked the introduction of four-wheel drive and evolved from a simple
means of transport into a versatile implement carrier, thanks to the addition
of a power take-off. The range continued to develop with the MC18/MC20
AGRICULTURAL MOTORCYCLE/TRACTOR in 1972, the first one-seater transporter,
and the TRANSPORTER TRACTOR 245 in 1975, which offered increased power and
payloads, along with enhanced driving comfort through the introduction of a closed
and heated cabin. By 1979, the TRANSPORTER MOTOAGRICOLA 520 was introduced, a
compact 4x4 version designed for use in narrow and particularly steep
passages. The 1980s brought further refinements. The
TRANSPORTER TRACTOR 540 (1982) saw significant improvements in driving
comfort due to a new cabin suspension system and the fitting of the first
water-cooled engines. In 1984, the MC40 AGRICULTURAL MOTORCYCLE was
introduced, offering a compact size but with high power and capacity,
featuring an articulated steering system that allowed access to the narrowest
places previously inaccessible to traditional agricultural vehicles. A major
leap in mechanical engineering occurred in 1990 with the launch of the
TRANSPORTER SERIES 700. This series marked a revolution in Caron mechanics,
developing a 24-speed synchronized gearbox that included half and low gears.
The cabin was completely renewed, becoming more spacious and comfortable,
confirming the vehicle's suitability for any terrain and simultaneously
opening up new areas of use. Building on this success, the 1990s saw further
expansion and specialization. In 1992, the advanced mechanics of the 700
series were applied to the new single-seater TS/TA SERIES TRACTORS, available
not only in an articulated version but also with steering wheels, and with an
expanded range of engines, wheelbases, and dimensions, significantly
broadening the audience of potential users. The WORKING MACHINE SERIES 800
was developed in 1994, specifically for municipal use, incorporating specific
hydraulic systems for operating winter equipment. A significant milestone was
achieved in 1999 when Caron became among the first manufacturers to obtain
the European Global Approval for its AR/ST 200/300/500 SERIES TRACTORS. This
prestigious certificate was obtained after subjecting the vehicles to
numerous rigorous tests and having the production process undergo periodic
checks by the Ministry of Transport, thereby certifying the quality of the
materials used and the strict checks that accompany all phases of construction
for every Caron tractor. Also in 1999, the new Pianezze facility came into
operation, an expansive area of 13,000 square meters equipped with the most
modern systems, enabling a production process that not only adheres to the
most sophisticated market demands but is also able to anticipate and guide
industry trends. The new millennium saw Caron continue its relentless
innovation. In 2001, the company entered the market for large transporters
with the TRANSPORTER SERIES 900, a model featuring completely innovative and
technologically advanced mechanics that offered enormous potential, placing
itself at the top of its category for power and load capacity. The SERIES 800
AT – CH VERSION was introduced in 2003, a specific configuration for the
Austrian and Swiss markets, featuring standard equipment such as an independent
hydraulic clutch for the PTO, hydraulic distributors, and a universal frame
for mounted implements. The AR/ST EVO SERIES TRACTORS in 2004 brought
mechanical improvements in the gearbox and axles, allowing certain models to
reach a total weight of 4,500 kg. A further evolution, the AR/ST EVO3 SERIES
TRACTORS, launched in 2009, was the first tractor with an articulated loading
platform equipped with an approved closed cabin mounted on a suspended
driving platform. This design minimized vibrations and significantly
increased driving comfort, achieving great success with its 5000 kg total
weight and becoming a point of reference for its segment. In 2012, Caron
began an innovation process that would involve the entire range of
transporters, with the new TRANSPORTER SERIES C/CTK/CT introducing a new
design aesthetic that would later characterize all Caron products. More recently, Caron developed the new CHS (Caron
Hydropneumatic Suspension) system for its TRANSPORTER SERIES CTA/CTS,
offering power up to 110 hp and a total weight of 10,000 kg. The AR/ST EVO4
SERIES TRACTORS represented the fourth evolution of this line, taking up
design cues introduced by the large transporters. The NEW CTS SERIES further
exemplifies Caron's commitment to cutting-edge technology, available with
EURO 6 engines, approved for a maximum speed of 60 km/h, and featuring a
sophisticated 4-wheel steering system developed by the company. This journey
showcases Caron's evolution from a small workshop to a recognized
international leader, consistently delivering robust, powerful, and agile
vehicles for a multitude of specialized applications. |
