Brief Description: Founded in 1954 by Mr. Pierino Cattini, Cattini
S.p.A. was built upon the significant technical background he acquired
producing gears and other sophisticated components for military vehicles and
ships during the Second World War. From its inception, Mr. Cattini
established a clear strategy for the company: to continuously expand its
production program to become and remain one of the preeminent suppliers of
transmission gears in Europe. He also recognized the necessity of
diversification for the company's long-term future. By acquiring new
customers in different market segments and entering the Original Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) business, the company quickly increased its revenues and
gained market recognition in what was a fiercely competitive post-war arena. Consistent with this strategy, beyond the
cylindrical gears produced from the very beginning, Mr. Cattini began serving
agricultural tractor OEMs in the early 1960s and started producing spiral
bevel gears in the mid-1960s. Cattini S.p.A. is especially proud that, for
what is now more than six decades, these first OEM customers remain an active
part of its network today. The company's product portfolio has continued to
evolve with the addition of planetary ring gears in 1973 and the launch of
manual gear shifting systems in 1991, following technological studies in the
second half of the 1980s. The latest major complement to the range has been
the production of power-shift gear shifting systems since 2010. As quality requirements and expectations in the
industry have steadily increased, so too have Cattini's capabilities in terms
of both technological innovation and the management of complex tasks, always
with the clear goal of achieving the highest customer satisfaction and
continuous business development. This commitment is evident in its adoption
of advanced processes. The introduction of power-shift systems brought with
it electron beam welding technology, which Cattini mastered to cater to
customers’ needs for reliable, heavy-duty welding. A further innovation was
the introduction of a shot peening process in 2014, developed with the
support of a technological partner. More recently, in 2019, the company
implemented the sophisticated closed-loop methodology for the involute
grinding of cylindrical gears. Building on many years of experience with
spiral beveled gears, this methodology is now available for cylindrical gears
as well, providing greater reliability and productivity in the grinding
process by allowing production and measuring machines to communicate directly
without manual input. Cattini S.p.A.'s strategy for the future is powered
by an ambition to continuously grow and maintain a strong presence in the
power transmission segment. It aims to always stand as a trusted supplier and
partner for its customers whilst preserving the company’s strong family
values for all its associates and stakeholders. "Transforming a tough
task into a winning solution: that is the Cattini way of life!" |
