Brief
Description: CIMA S.p.A. was founded in 1974, a
result of the intuition of Paolo Smeraldi, who initiated the production of
pneumatic sprayers and dusters in Valle Versa, nestled in the heart of
Oltrepo Pavese—an Italian region renowned for the quality of its vineyards
and wines. From its inception 51 years ago, CIMA pioneered the use of
"Low Volume" technology, a principle that continues to underpin its
production today. The company's industrial progress was rapidly fueled by
addressing the special needs of diverse Italian agricultural situations,
providing quality interventions that were more efficient, economically
advantageous, and respectful of the environment's ecological balance. The
European viticulture market, particularly in France, responded immediately
and positively, offering CIMA the opportunity to engage with different
agricultural contexts and growing techniques, which in turn spurred the
design and development of personalized solutions. This flexibility to design
quality products tailored to the needs of the end-user has enabled the
company to create successful solutions even for the treatment of crops
different from vines. Building on matured experience and driven by the
initiatives of its leadership, CIMA took its first steps outside of the
European market in the early 1980s. Initial exports to South Africa, where
its innovative equipment was warmly welcomed, were soon followed by growing
requests from the United States of America, Australia, and New Zealand. This
engagement with diverse foreign markets not only encouraged the company's
growth but also allowed CIMA technicians and designers to acquire an in-depth
knowledge of various crops and agricultural models through collaboration with
different international agricultural realities. The extensive experience
gained in the field, through numerous experiments and tests, has enabled CIMA
to develop increasingly advanced solutions capable of satisfying the
multifaceted needs of the agricultural sector, both in Italy and abroad. The
company’s R&D staff, benefiting from this specialization, information
exchange with clients, and experimental field trials, is always able to
develop and offer the right product tailored to every client’s specific
needs. In 2000, CIMA S.p.A. made significant investments in
the construction of its new headquarters, introducing ultra-modern machinery.
This strategic move ensured that every mechanical part could be manufactured
inside the factory, guaranteeing a total "Made in Italy" supply
chain. Being in control of all stages of the process allows CIMA to maintain
very high quality standards and to consistently meet the specific requests of
its customers. Thanks to the introduction of increasingly cutting-edge
machinery, their production line is now truly all-round, enabling the
manufacture of a wide range of equipment with extreme flexibility to adapt to
the unique needs of each customer. In the last decade, aided by the
conclusion of important trade agreements with countries such as India, Kenya,
and Egypt, exports have grown to represent 85% of CIMA's sales. Looking forward, CIMA S.p.A. is already working
diligently for the future, dedicating its usual commitment and energy to the
creation of constantly cutting-edge products. The company's ambition is to
always be "one step ahead of the others," continuing to demonstrate
its value and the significant impact it has on the agricultural sector. To
succeed, CIMA is committed to preserving what makes it unique: the
distinguished quality of its products, unwavering attention to the customer,
profound respect for the environment, and relentless technological
innovation, all with the overarching aim of simplifying the management of
operations for the user and bringing ever-greater efficiency to crop
treatments worldwide. |
