Brief
Description: The history of ERO began in the
mid-1960s when farmer Heinz Erbach started producing barn equipment. The
company successfully entered the mechanization of viticulture as early as
1970 with the introduction of the ERO leaf rotator, an innovative development
by Heinz's brother-in-law, Herbert Roth. Over the subsequent years, numerous other
viticulture machines followed this initial success. These included the
patented ERO shoot binder, also developed by Herbert Roth, as well as post
pounders, leaf removers, and eventually, the first self-propelled grape
harvester from a German production line. A significant expansion of the
product portfolio occurred in 2006 with the acquisition of the Binger Seilzug
company, which added other key products such as pre-pruners and defoliators
to the range. Until 2018, the two production sites in Niederkumbd
and Bingen continued to operate separately. In that year, a major merger and
consolidation took place with the move into a completely new, purpose-built
plant located in the industrial area of Simmern, Germany. Here, more than
15,000 square meters of production space and almost 3,000 square meters of
office and exhibition space are now available. With this new, modern
building, both the working conditions and the production quality have been
considerably improved, positioning ERO for future growth and innovation. |
