    With a rich history spanning 69 years, Gis srl was founded in Carpi, Italy, in 1956. The company's origins trace back to the intuition of Giorgio Sgarbi, who, in a time of unprecedented industrial growth, grasped the secrets of compressed air and its various uses. This passion and dedication were later passed on to his son, Gianfranco. In a significant recent development, Gis srl was acquired by the Sau Group in July 2022.

    The Sau Group itself was founded in 1982 in Polinago, in the heart of the Modena Apennines. Its core business is the production and marketing of high-quality tools, both carbide and mechanically tightened, for the global precision metalworking industry. The group has expanded through strategic partnerships, including a 2009 joint venture with the historic Reggio Emilia-based company BBO, which specializes in tool sharpening, and a 2019 joint venture with AGS Automation, with which it developed "The Box" vertical warehouse for tool management.

    Today, as part of this dynamic group, Gis's distinctive feature is its ability to combine the most modern and sophisticated construction solutions with the assembly, testing, and inspection processes typical of the finest craftsmen.
