    With a rich history spanning 49 years, Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc., was established on April 1, 1976, by its founder, Roy Applequist. Since its inception in a small shop in Salina, Kansas, Great Plains has become a leader in the manufacturing of agricultural implements for tillage, seeding, and planting in the United States. It has also grown into a leading producer of dirt working, turf maintenance, material handling, and landscaping equipment. Today, as a Kubota Company, Great Plains comprises four main divisions: Great Plains Ag, Land Pride, CE (Construction Equipment), and Great Plains Trucking.

    The company's product mix was significantly extended and diversified in 1986 with the launch of the Land Pride division, which rapidly established itself as a leading brand for grooming mowers, rotary tillers, rotary cutters, and landscape seeding equipment. As part of the Kubota family, Land Pride has since expanded its product line to include construction equipment and material handling products, now sold through more than 1,600 independent dealerships across the United States and exported worldwide. To support its growing distribution needs, Great Plains Trucking was added as a subsidiary in 1981 and now operates over 100 trucks, delivering products to North American dealers and hauling raw materials back to the manufacturing plants.

    The company's philosophy is built upon investing in state-of-the-art technology and talented people to design, engineer, and produce leading-edge implements and products. Today, Great Plains maintains its corporate headquarters in Salina, Kansas, and operates 1.6 million square feet of manufacturing space across eight state-of-the-art facilities in central Kansas.
