With a rich history spanning 62 years, the company now known as LOSI VITTORIO & C. Snc was founded in 1963 as a single enterprise in Bologna, Italy. It initially specialized in constructing seats and spare knives for motor-harvesters and tuber-cutters. During that same decade, the company began producing cutter bars for small machines, offering an alternative to traditional double-finger models. Throughout the 1970s, while continuing to manufacture spare parts, LOSI specialized further in the construction of cutter bars, based on both its own proprietary projects and on specific customer drafts.

    At the end of the 1970s, the owners’ children joined their father in the business, and the company transformed into a General Partnership. A significant advancement occurred during the 1980s and 90s when they began producing their own Mulching fingers and double fingers in-house to achieve the adequate quality required for their cutter bar production. It was at this time that they developed their first patented cutter bar, the “S.P.S.”, which uniquely allowed knives to be guided directly from the forged finger. To keep up with market demand and offer complete and reliable equipment, the company also started producing drive mechanisms in an oil bath.

    In the 1990s, the founder retired, while his children successfully continued the business. New products were added to the range, and the dedication to research remained continuous, with a clear aim of improving the cutting effectiveness of the tools and enhancing the working conditions for the people using them. This research culminated in another revolutionary patent at the end of the 90s: the “Double knife in oil bath” Dual Profi, a drive mechanism that effectively resolved the long-standing problem of vibrations in cutting systems.

    In the year 2000, the firm moved to a wider and better-structured plant in Minerbio, Italy. This move, combined with its extensive experience, allowed for the further optimization of product quality.
