The story of CEMCO is a rugged 50-year American
legacy, a journey that began in the dirt and dust of the job site. It is a
tale that evolved from the practical experience of L.F. Perry, a man who grew
up operating and fixing machinery and saw a glaring gap in the concrete
industry. He realized that contractors were limited by location, and he set
out to revolutionize the market by designing mobile, self-contained batch
plants that would allow them to bid profitably on any job, of any size,
anywhere. At the very heart of this story is a timeline of
invention. It began with the groundbreaking "Tilt 'N Batch" in
1969, a patent that signaled the start of a new era. In 1975, Perry, along
with partners L.L. "Cotton", Don, and J.J. Wainright, officially
founded CEMCO in Olney, Texas. This is a story of a pivotal transformation. In the
early days, Perry worked at his drafting table, hand-drawing designs for
custom concrete forms. But by the late 1980s, the company shifted its focus
exclusively to what they did best: manufacturing high-performance batching
equipment. This era saw the birth of the CEMCO Mobile Batch Plant design and
the later introduction of the Mobile Central Mix Unit, which featured a
unique, heavy-duty giant ring bearing for the mixer drum. Today, the story of CEMCO is one of "mobility meets high production." Their product line has expanded to include auxiliary silos, aggregate feeders, and custom accessories, all designed to keep the concrete flowing. It is a promise of quality and integrity, carrying on Mr. Perry’s legacy of innovation to ensure that modern contractors have the self-contained power they need to build the future. |
