The story of Ground Force Worldwide is a narrative of industrial evolution and record-breaking scale, a journey that began in 1988 under the name ARESCO. What started as a niche manufacturer of mechanic service and explosive trucks has transformed into a global powerhouse that designs the world’s largest and most capable mine support equipment. Anchored in Northern Idaho, Ground Force has grown from a local workshop into a worldwide network spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

At the very heart of their identity is a turning point in 2001, when Ron and Pam Nilson purchased the company and renamed it Ground Force Manufacturing. This moment marked a shift from standard fabrication to aggressive innovation. They immediately introduced the first articulated fuel and lube truck featuring the "Ground Force frame stretch," a design that revolutionized how support vehicles navigate rugged terrain. This spirit of ingenuity set the stage for a decade of dominance.

This is a story of "Size Matters." Ground Force didn't just enter the market; they scaled it up. In 2005, they revolutionized the industry with rigid frame fuel and lube trucks ranging from 60 to 200 tons—the latter being the World’s Largest. In 2011, they broke another record by building the World’s Largest Water Truck, capable of carrying 60,000 gallons. Whether it was entering the rigid frame dump business with a massive 320-ton body in 2013 or breaking their own records again in 2016, Ground Force established itself as the authority on heavy-duty support.

This is a story of strategic depth. Ground Force understood that mining isn't just about what happens on the surface. In 2012, they launched Underground Force at MinExpo, introducing specialized equipment like the UG20K Motor Grader and later the 20-ton Underground Haul Truck. They became the complete solution provider, ensuring that whether a mine needed to suppress dust, spread rock, or refuel massive excavators, Ground Force had the tool for the job.

The narrative took a major leap forward in 2021 when Ground Force was acquired by Federal Signal Corporation, a leader in environmental and safety solutions. This partnership was further strengthened in 2022 when Ground Force acquired TowHaul Corporation, uniting two titans of the mining support industry under one banner.

Today, the story of Ground Force Worldwide is one of a global family driven by core values: People, Integrity, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement. It is a promise that from their 80,000-square-foot factory in Post Falls to the deepest mines in the world, they are empowering customers with equipment built to perform and endure.
