Every massive lift begins with a solid foundation. For Fascan International, that foundation was laid in 1982 by Bernie J. Faloney Sr. in Ontario, Canada. As the owner of Contractor’s Machinery and Equipment Ltd., Bernie recognized the untapped potential in the Fassi line of articulated hydraulic cranes. He didn't just add another product to his catalog; he introduced a new standard of lifting power and versatility to the Canadian market. The success was undeniable, and the momentum quickly began to build.

By May of 1992, that momentum pushed the operation across the border. Fascan International was officially incorporated to distribute Fassi cranes throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Under the leadership of newly appointed President and CEO Bernie J. Faloney, Jr., the company planted its flag in a 10,000-square-foot distribution facility in Baltimore, Maryland. It was the beginning of a dominant era in American heavy lifting.

Fascan’s impact on the U.S. market was explosive. As the demand for their rugged, reliable cranes surged, the company rapidly outgrew its original headquarters. Through several major expansions, Fascan grew into its current massive 55,000-square-foot facility in Baltimore. Today, their legacy is actively shaping skylines and infrastructure, with nearly 5,000 Fassi cranes put into service across the nation. But Fascan wasn't content to only look up; they also recognized a critical need to look inward, into the tightest, most challenging workspaces imaginable.

In 2011, Fascan pivoted to solve a complex industry problem: how do you execute heavy, highly precise lifts in confined, restricted areas? The answer was JekkoUSA. Founded as the exclusive U.S. distributor for Italian-made Jekko minicranes, they introduced a specialized fleet of compact crawler and pick-and-carry cranes. Designed for maximum capability in minimal space, these outrigger-equipped machines boast lifting capacities ranging from 1.2 to 8 tons, proving that immense power doesn't always require a massive footprint.

Jekko minicranes fundamentally changed how contractors approached difficult, interior jobs. Capable of driving straight through a standard doorway and deploying in minutes, these highly versatile machines allow operators to get much closer to the load, significantly increasing both precision and safety. Whether it is a gas or electric-powered unit navigating the delicate interior of a glass installation, maneuvering through a tunnel or mine, or handling intricate steel erection inside an industrial plant, Fascan and JekkoUSA have proven that no space is too tight for a perfect lift.
