The Royal Van Beest Group’s story begins in 1922 when Dirk van Beest, a dedicated blacksmith, set up shop in Sliedrecht—the heart of the Dutch dredging industry near the Port of Rotterdam. Starting out by forging the heavy-duty shackles that would eventually become the iconic Green Pin® brand, Dirk built his reputation on a relentless commitment to producing 100% failsafe products backed by swift, reliable service. As the Dutch maritime and dredging sectors expanded globally, his company grew right alongside them. Decades of steady success paved the way for international expansion, beginning with a new sales office in Germany in 1989 and the launch of their first US distribution center in Houston in 1998.

    The new millennium sparked an era of aggressive strategic growth for the company. In 2007, Van Beest acquired Forges de L’Eminée to broaden its product offerings, later opening a second US facility in Chicago in 2016 to meet rising demand. The following year proved to be massive, as the company acquired Load Solutions to introduce the innovative Green Pin Tycan® synthetic chain, while also bringing Irizar Forge and Heuer Hebetechnik under their umbrella to supply major crane components. This momentum carried all the way into 2025 with the acquisition of Enduro Softslings, fully rounding out their lineup with top-tier synthetic softslings. Today, Royal Van Beest proudly remains a family-owned enterprise. Still headquartered right where it all began in Sliedrecht, the company now commands production sites across the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Spain, completely supported by major distribution hubs in Sliedrecht, Houston, and Chicago.
