The story of Venco Venturo starts back in 1952 when
Arden "Art" Collins founded Collins Associates, Inc. Under his
leadership, the company steadily grew to become the largest manufacturer’s
representative agency in the truck body and equipment industry. Art was a
true industry pioneer, even forming the Truck Equipment & Body
Distributors Association in 1964, which is known today as the massive
National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA). By 1978, the next generation
stepped up when his sons, Ron and Larry Collins, took over the family
business. They quickly began expanding the company's footprint, acquiring the
Venco liftgate line in 1979 and adding a full lineup of heavy-duty scissors
hoists for pickups, flatbeds, and dump bodies just two years later. The company took another massive leap forward in 1989 when they acquired an electric crane manufacturer. This strategic move allowed them to expand their product line even further to include hydraulic cranes and crane bodies, prompting an official name change to Venco/Venturo Manufacturing, Inc. The family legacy continued to deepen when Brett and Scott Collins joined the team in 1994, eventually working their way up to President and Vice President of Operations by late 2011. Finally, in September 2013, Brett Collins partnered with Mike Strittholt to purchase the company as majority owners. They officially rebranded the enterprise as Venco Venturo Industries LLC, proudly encompassing the trusted Venturo and Venco brands that fleets and commercial operators rely on today. |
