The story of Vita Inclinata began with a tragic
personal experience in 2009, when founder Caleb Carr, then a high school
volunteer, witnessed his friend and mentor, Don, pass away during a botched
helicopter rescue. Despite a rescue helicopter arriving on the scene, extreme
wind, rotor wash, and treacherous mountainous terrain made it impossible for
the crew to safely secure the litter, forcing the aircraft to leave without
them. After learning that this was a common, life-threatening problem in
aviation and rescue operations, Carr initially planned to pursue medical
school to address such failures. However, after sharing his story with Dr.
Randall Tagg at the University of Colorado – Denver, he was challenged to use
engineering to solve the root cause of the problem directly. Today, Vita Inclinata Technologies is on a mission
to ensure that every rescue and lifting operation ends with everyone
returning home safely. Based in Denver, Colorado, with additional locations
in Washington, D.C. and Ashland, Oregon, the company enhances operational
safety and efficiency by combining patented intelligent lifting hardware and
software with industry-leading training. The organization has grown to
encompass several specialized divisions—including Vita Aerospace, Vita
Industrial, and Air Rescue Systems—and continues to expand its reach through
the strategic acquisition of companies that are leaders in advanced safety
solutions. By tackling the technical limitations that have historically
plagued crane and helicopter operations, Vita Inclinata is fundamentally
transforming what is possible for safety and capability in the most
challenging environments on earth. |
